Becky visits & the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park

We were so happy to have Becky come visit us for a few days.  While she was here, we went to the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park:

Grandma Visits!!!!!!!!

My mom flew in today so she could be here to celebrate Wyatt's birthday tomorrow, April 8th.  We haven't seen her since we pulled out of their driveway back in January, when we left for San Diego.  We have never gone this long without seeing each other, and of course, three months time makes for a lot of changes in a 2 and 3 year old.  She was so excited to see the boys, she could hardly stand it.  We did a lot of fun things while she was here, and her few short days went waaaaay too fast.

7.2 Earthquake

So, I've found the one thing I don't like about living in Southern California: EARTHQUAKES.  This afternoon, while the boys were sleeping, there was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, which shook our entire condo and created a lot of noise as well.  It took me a few seconds to realize exactly what was going on.....and then to realize that it wasn't stopping, so I grabbed the boys out of their beds and ran outside and downstairs, where several other people were starting to gather as well.  We felt several aftershocks as well. We did not have any major structural damage here, but we did have a few things fall off our shelves.  In the pictures below, you an see the cans of soda above tipped over on the shelf, and two of them fell below to the top of the washer and dryer, and the box of Brita filters fell from the shelf to the floor.  And, in the boys' room, their dresser drawers were shaken slightly open.

Easter

Our condo hosted an Easter Egg Hunt in the courtyard for kids....it didn't take Beckett and Wyatt too long to figure out the idea of running around and grabbing the eggs.

I just finished reading this book:

...and I HIGHLY recommend it.  If you a mother, or know a mother, you have to read this book.  After checking out their website, it appears the authors have a couple of other books that I'll most likely be checking out at the library.
